For Open Service<\/strong>, quality, in the broadest sense, means much more than achieving results in line with customer requirements. For us, respecting high quality standards<\/strong> is a result in itself, and this can be seen throughout all phases of our services which, when combined, make up our scope of supply. To this end, our company has obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification<\/strong> through the Det Norske Veritas certification body. Furthermore, our company has also implemented a “real” as opposed to a “formal” Quality Management System<\/strong>, which harmoniously combines elements able to provide tangible proof of the reliable<\/strong> and accurate<\/strong> way in which we carry out our work. This system also allows us to manage all company processes, improving the effectiveness<\/strong> and efficiency<\/strong> of services. In fact, an efficient management<\/strong> system allows us to enhance our services<\/strong>, especially over the medium-long term, identifying any critical areas within our company’s processes and defining the most appropriate solutions<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Environment<\/h3>\n

All company activities produce waste<\/strong> and use substances<\/strong> or materials<\/strong> which must then be disposed of. Respecting the environment means respecting ourselves, looking after the areas in which we live and work and where future generations will do the same. Activities such as cleaning<\/strong>, sanitisation<\/strong> and looking after green areas<\/strong> simply cannot coexist with poor and insufficient care for the environment and the areas in which we all live. Day after day, Open Service<\/strong> proactively and substantially commits to correctly using products, substances and machinery<\/strong>. This commitment was formalised in 2006 when the company successfully completed a voluntary Environmental Certification process with the Det Norske Veritas certification body, pursuant to the ISO 14001:2004 standard<\/strong>. In this way, the company undertakes to adopt the most appropriate procedures to assess the environmental impact of its activities and the services it provides to Customers, with a particular focus on waste management<\/strong>. The environmental management system also allows the company to launch a continuous improvement process<\/strong> with regard to its environmental impact, as this system is based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act principle: it is therefore always possible to set new objectives and establish which is the most efficient way to achieve them.<\/div>\n

Safety<\/h3>\n

The services offered by Open Service<\/strong> every day involve products, materials, equipment and, above all, people. Our personnel skilfully carry out their duties and tasks with rigour and professionalism, but our company nonetheless wanted to formalise its awareness<\/strong> and focus<\/strong> on complying with regulations concerning workers’ health<\/strong> and safety<\/strong>. In 2010, Open Service was awarded OHSAS 18001:2007 certification<\/strong>, which involves careful control<\/strong> over how tasks are carried out in order to avoid any kind of accident in the workplace and to ensure strict compliance<\/strong> with applicable legislation<\/strong>. Practically speaking, this involves:<\/p>\n

  • Adopting precautions to be taken on all worksites<\/li>\n
  • Inspections and internal audits<\/li>\n
  • Risk analysis<\/li>\n
  • Planning improvement objectives<\/li>\n
  • Health and safety training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    All of these actions allow us to constantly monitor<\/strong> aspects which, as mentioned above, involve people and their safety. Open Service<\/strong> therefore manages a Risk Assessment Document and has developed continuous improvement programmes<\/strong> regarding workplace health and safety<\/strong>. These start by identifying specific risks, allowing for a system to be implemented to manage and monitor activities<\/strong>, in compliance with applicable legislation (Italian law no. 81\/2008 and subsequent integrations) and to protect personal safety.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Social Responsibility<\/h3>\n

    As is the case for environmental and safety aspects, our ethical values<\/strong> have also been formalised, validated and recognised, as we apply them every day when carrying out our projects, processes and procedures. To complete the aforementioned approach, Open Service<\/strong> believed it was also appropriate to commit to the SA 8000:2011 standard<\/strong>, obtaining Corporate Social Responsibility Certification<\/strong>. This is a management system<\/strong> involving the entire company<\/strong> (directors, top management, employees) and those with whom it normally has relations (suppliers and customers). The main objectives are:<\/p>\n

    • to promote workplace health<\/strong> and safety<\/strong> (integrating OHSAS 18001)<\/li>\n
    • to combat discrimination<\/strong> and disciplinary measures that are not provided for by article 7 of the Workers’ Charter, child labour and forced labour<\/li>\n
    • to ensure that working times<\/strong> and hours<\/strong> as well as criteria for salaries are respected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Family and Work<\/h3>\n

      The Family and Work Audit<\/strong>, recognised as being an effective HR management<\/strong> tool, was developed and created in 1995 by the Hertie Stiftung public benefit purpose foundation in Frankfurt, based on the US Family-Friendly Index. In 2003, this was also introduced into Italy when the autonomous province of Bolzano took part in a project to promote the audit, financed by the European Commission, alongside Austria, Germany, France and Hungary. The Veneto Region was accredited and, acting as a local licensee, it is now the point of contact for the European Coordination Office. This Audit is an innovative process<\/strong> that allows HR management to continuously improve<\/strong>, with a view to reconciling family life and work<\/strong>.
